For Immediate Release: MonoSol LLC Expands Manufacturing Capabilities May 22, 2007 – MonoSol LLC, with headquarters in Merrillville, Indiana, USA and manufacturing plants in Portage, Indiana and Hartlebury, England, has finalized the purchase of a 15-acre (61,000 square meters) industrial green field site in La Porte, Indiana. Complementing the ongoing operations in Portage, this acquisition provides MonoSol the necessary space for additional manufacturing capacity to meet expected worldwide demand for its products. The global leader in production of custom-formulated, water soluble polymer-based film products – most notably films for automatic dishwashing unit-dose packs – will build a $11.0 Million manufacturing site to facilitate new high-tech film production lines and pilot-testing laboratories. The La Porte facility will also house pilot manufacturing equipment that the company will use to develop and test products created at its research and development center in Portage. MonoSol President and CEO P. Scott Bening said: “products manufactured in the new facility will include those made from renewable biopolymer and repulpable materials, which help to reduce overall packaging waste. Specialty edible films for unit-dose and portion control for food manufacturers and consumers also will be at the new facility. As the leading maker of water-soluble packaging, MonoSol is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the rising demand for products that are eco-friendly and innovative, as well as safe and convenient”. MonoSol is the largest producer of innovative water-soluble, environmentally friendly films for a variety of packaging and healthcare product applications. About MonoSol LLC Media Contact: [TOP] |
